Yes even the a 4th Dan gets hurt sometimes:). Last Thursday night a freak accident during training left myself, Danny, with a fracktured tibia or broken leg...Not to worrry though classes will continue as normal, I may be a bit more grumpier than usual..but hey give me a break...oh shouldn't have said that. Big Pete I don't blame you mate although stay out of my good wife's way she's after your blood:))

ZKJ friend and affiliate Nigel Lee successfully gained his 3rd Dan Black Belt under Iain Abernethy and the BCA. I can tell you from personal experience this is no mean feat. The BCA grades are the hardest and most prestigious to come by and to gain one is a true achievement. We are very proud to have negel and the OKKOwith us and look forward to many years ahead together.

Many many thanks to the large number of competitors who turned out to fight for the coveted ZKJ titles. The standard of competition from the kids was outstanding. Juniors from Lough Moss, Mill Green, St Bernards, The Hut all produced excellent performances and thanks to Belfast City Council support for Sport the day was a huge success. Again a full report will be available on the site very soon.

Once again a fantastic turnout on April fools day made it yet again another successful and enjoyable course with Iain. A wide range of martial artists descended on the hut to take part in another course run by ZKJ. Iain was his usual mix of humour and practicality and took us all through a fantastic session on flowing drills from the kata. More detail will be avaialable on the seminar on the site very soon.

New ZKJ Schools Programme

ZKJ have been asked to provide a programme for both primary and secondary level schools. We have provided a unique and varied programme which will provide 6 to 8 week programmes for a number of schools throughout Northern Ireland. Over the next few days you will see a new page dedicated to our new "compadres" in the OKKO Karate Jutsu Organisation, under Nigel Lee. This is a new dawn for ZKJ and something we hope to build on. OKKO are now officialy affiliated to Zanshin Karate Jutsu, so from all at ZKJ we extend a very warm welcome to our friends at OKKO.

Finally it's up and running, the ZKJ Members page is active and open to all ZKJ Members and invited guests. The pages will contain as much about ZKJ training techniques and news as we can get on. The First information on contains full galleries of Jitte Kata and the first three ZKJ Wado Karate Jutsu Tanto Dori (Knife Defence). Sucess For New Training Structure

Some 65 students young and not so you took advantage of the new training structured launched this week at ZKJ. The structured is the result of the high standards developed by the ZKJ students and the fact that our Adult numbers have trebled over the last year or so. Long may it last and here are a few pictures from the new classes. ZKJ now operate 10 classes a week...phew tiring:)

NEW CLASS OPENING

From Monday 12th February we will be providing an extra Class on Monday Nights at St Bernards Hall.
Due to this years growth in numbers and due to the skill development of our current members we have decided to provide an NEW class structure on Monday Nights. It will work as follows
7:00pm-8:00pm Children up to the age of 8 year old who are orange belt and below.
8:00pm-9:00pm Children over the age of 8 year old and or Green belt level and above.
9:00pm-10:00pm ADULTS ONLY -- This is a completely new class due to the demand in Adult participation.
The National ZKJ Junior League is Coming

Sunday 25 March 2007 sees the all new and improved ZKJ National Junior League Competition. The League will be held at the Ballysillan Leisure Centre and promises to be the biggest and best yet. So get your training started now.

Over the forthcoming weeks ZKJ will launch a new Page on our site for The Teenagers and youth of ZKJ. The page will be written and edited by a Teenage Crew headed by Courtney Young. ZKJ Course with Avoneil Shotokan

Last Sunday at the Avoneil Leisure Centre, ZKJ Coach Danny Corr honoured to be invited to take John Richarson's Shotokan Senior grades through the hidden techniques of TEKKI kata. Even though ZKJ is Wado based Danny able to show the Shotokan contingent how effective a fighting system the TEKKI katas are. Everyone enjoyed the seminar and hopefully there will be more in the future .

The New ZKJ Year begins on Friday 5th January at the Lough Moss Club in Carryduff. The rest of the clubs start with the Sunday Special on the 7th at the Hut then the week beginning the 8th sees the regular class regime begin. Time to get rid of the Turkey bellies:))
